Our 2008 Summer Season:

now playing:
Hamlet
, by William Shakespeare
Thursdays through Sundays, July 17 to August 2, at 8pm

and next, a wonderfully funny send-up of our current tragedy, where the ghost of John Barrymore returns to persuade a reluctant TV actor to undertake the role:
I Hate Hamlet,
a comedy by Paul Rudnick
Thursdays through Sundays, August 8 to August 17, at 8pm

(and now closed, sorry if we missed you!):
The Two Gentlemen of Verona, by William Shakespeare
"Shakespeare shines through at Stan Hywet"
"Impressive troupe delivers 'Two Gentlemen of Verona' with delight at outdoor show... 'Verona' starts the season on a high. It makes me look forward to 'Hamlet' and 'I Hate Hamlet.'"
Elaine Guregian
Beacon Journal arts and culture critic

Coming in October at Coach House Theatre, in Akron:
Ohio Shakespeare Festival's production of:

Barrymore's Ghost, by Jason Miller

Matinee idol John Barrymore was as well known for his flamboyant and dissolute lifestyle as for his handsome profile and striking theatrical talent. In this one-man tour de force starring Richard Figge, Barrymore's ghost leads a purgatorial existence haunting empty theaters, in retribution for having squandered his gifts. Three performances only, opening on Halloween, 2008.

Please look for announcements of other shows presented at other venues in 2008!
